Sharkinetics Virtual ToursWhat is a Virtual Tour?

A Virtual Tour is a 360 degree view of a space taken from a particular viewpoint. This delivers the audience with a digital reproduction of an area - as if they are there in person and could look around in any direction. Several 360 degree scenes can be presented together and connected by accompanying links and/or internal "hot spots" allowing the user to take a complete interactive tour of any environment.

How will virtual tours help promote my business?
Virtual Tours allow companies to introduce prospective customers to products, property, and unique environments without the high cost, time, and logistics of traveling. This technology allows you to captivate, engage, and inform your audience - in many cases more effectively than if they were actually there in person.

Aren't virtual tours just a passing fad?
Judging by growing demand and consistent improvements, this is a service that will not only sustain itself, but develop dramatically. In many industries, if you don't have a virtual tour, customers may wonder what you’re trying to hide!

Why Sharkinetics' Virtual Tour services?
In contrast with low-end virtual tour companies, Sharkinetics utilizes multiple viewer technologies, all developed to present your tour with the best balance of quality and usability. Coupled with an engaging, interactive user interface, our Virtual Tour products are some of the most impressive and powerful on the market.

Do I have to buy any cameras or software to get Virtual Tours?
No hardware or software purchases are required, Sharkinetics will take care of everything. We can capture, process, host, and distribute Virtual Tours depending on your specific needs.

Do I have to be present when the photographer is shooting my Virtual Tour?
No, you don't have to be present during the shooting of your virtual tour, provided you have made prior arrangements for the photographer to have access to the property and it is in a tidy state.

Sharkinetics Virtual ToursHow long does it take for a photographer to shoot a Virtual Tour?
It typically takes about 1 hour for a photographer to shoot a tour of 4 scenes. We ask that you have the property ready for photographing at the time of the appointment.

May I decide what shots are used in my Virtual Tour?
Yes, you may choose any scenes to be presented in the virtual tour during our proofing and design proposal process.

Can the images be edited to correct problems with lighting or subject matter?
Sharkinetics enhances all images at various stages in the virtual tour development process. We use high-end digital cameras that produce quality images. If the lighting or subject matter is not up to standard, we can digitally manipulate most images at an additional hourly rate.

What are the sizes of the Virtual Tours (how fast will they download)?
360° Virtual Tours download extremely fast. Most Virtual Tour images are between 80k – 100k, and are downloaded within 15 seconds even on the slowest of dial up connections! Most broadband users will experience only a 1 or 2 second pause while loading Virtual Tour content for the first time.

Will users have to download additional software to view my Virtual Tours?
This depends on what type of technology is chosen to deliver your tour with. The Flash, QuickTime, and iPIX viewers all require the respective browser plug-in, while the Java viewer requires a Java-enabled browser. For more information on the benefits and drawbacks of each viewer, please visit our technology section.
